Urlice Vineyards is a boutique winery whose owners, a husband and wife team, oversee the whole grape growing and winemaking processes. Located on the Aegean coast, in the town of Urla, where they have been practicing viticulture over centuries, their main goal is to express the potential of this ancient viticultural terroir with their vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz. Both old viticultural techniques and ecological principals are respected as well as painstaking efforts to remain chemical–free in the vineyards. In this light, wine making techniques are less interventionist and more dependent on good cellaring practices.
Urlice winery and Vineyard Cafe is set amidst vineyards and ancient olive groves. It is open between 11.00-19.00 in the Summer and 11.00-17.00 in Winter. Reservations are strongly recommended.
